lyrics

My momma told me to get a job
I'm like, no prob, I got that shit in the bag
But I just tell her that to, get her off of my back
Cuz where my mind is, sometimes I just want to focus on rap
I feel the problem arises when I don't prioritize all the shit I'm dealing with
- I see these niggas cakin makin millions
They writing lyrics you could barely hit the ceiling with
I'm tryna get on cloud 9, some atmospheric shit
I thought about changing the way that I carry myself
But then I thought some more and I'd rather bury myself
I live my life too authentic to let a critic
Tell me I ain't what they lookin for so I should be somebody else
I swear I came into this game with no intention
To be as good as I am with the pen, so my suggestion is
To keep it low key in the public to draw attention
Off the fact that niggas out here jealous when they see perfection in the flesh
Strong words, not saying I'm the best
But I did the groundwork others happen to neglect
I'm lookin at it open mindedly, tryna be reflective
Shittin on the next man jackin trends to get a check
Look, maybe I'm old fashioned
But I remember a time when gat clapping, ass slapping, backpacking, wack bragging, mad tacky niggas couldn't advance
What, you wrote a song about drugs and got you some fans?
What about your homies in the struggle lifting them cans?
Real killers who have to make a livin whippin in pans?
Think you gave back to ya hood cuz you invented up a dance
When racist cops are dropping us for fuckin lifting our pants
At the end you wasn't saying shit
The ones who saying shit just looking for a name to flip, I understand it
As an independent artist I can keep it candid
But for y'all, you go against the Grainge, you getting reprimanded
My music heads will notice that one
Rapping with a chip on my shoulder since I came back from
South Street where street niggas ten deep ran my pockets
Cuz I beat em in a battle in front of bitches they got and scooped em up
Like a ground ball, that's why these hood niggas I can't hang around y'all
It's like the second they think someone bout to clown, all
Bets are deaded, fuck that level headed talk, they letting rounds off
So ima sound off with this
Life is never a guarantee
That's why you see me treadin carefully
Ain't prepared to be another body in the cemetery
Rarely speaking up unless somebody asking
But because my people dying had to give you my reaction
My voice is for the voiceless up until they close captions
Toe tagging brothers undercover like assassins
Land of the free, man I didn't imagine this shit could happen
This is more than rap
